We Live

We Live
We live each day
By God's word, we obey
Our strength comes from within
By God's grace, we are forgiven our sins
We live our lives
By God's will, we will survive
We live for our children to teach
By God's wisdom, they will be reached.
We live to see the Promised Land
By God's love, we'll take His hand.
We live to one day look upon His face,
By God's wondrous presence, we will take our place.

Oh New Year Two Thousand Eleven,
I'm so thrilled you are here.
Goodbye to the past year,
Focus on the future is to be given.
No sadness, no tears,
A relief from old fears.
I see a new journey,
To renew faith and hope.
Armed with a new desire to cope,
A new day is before me.

Love for My Babies

I was once a younger mommie.
A beautiful son was born to me.
A lad now as tall as the trees.
All my dreams for him come to be.
Smart, thoughtful, generous and kind.
This beautiful son of mine.
He may well be the last of his line.
But always a strong branch of the vine.
Now I'm an older mom, you see.
Pregnant, at 41, unexpectedly.
My child, my daughter of special needs.
My heart overflows with love she feeds.
She dreams of a child of her own one day.
A daughter healthy and well, I pray.
A little one for her to cuddle and say
"I'll love you like my mommie loves me, precious baby"
forever and always.

Wishing for a sun's ray
Wishing for a spring day
Wishing for cold no more
Wishing for warmth galore
Wishing for 3 weeks to pass
Wishing for the days to go fast
Wishing for no more wintry mix
Wishing for a spring fix
Wishing for toes to thaw
Wishing for nose not raw
Wishing for no chapped skin
Wishing for a winter has been
Wishing for a spring day
Wishing for cold no more
Wishing for warmth galore
Wishing for 3 weeks to pass
Wishing for the days to go fast
Wishing for no more wintry mix
Wishing for a spring fix
Wishing for toes to thaw

The New Day

The sun is rising.
A new day is on the horizon.
The pinks of the sun
Mingle with the shadows from the moon
Creating the blue sky for the new day.
A reflective moment
of innermost thoughts
Gathering strength from the grace
And beauty provided for the new day.
Eyes closed, head bowed,
A murmured prayer.
A silent moment,
Thankful for the new day.
Eyes open and head raised
To see the glory around us
In all that God has made
Prepared for the new day.
